Welcome To Year 1 and Class Anthony Browne

Welcome back to school and we hope you have had a fantastic holidays.

This week the children have been settling into their new year 1 class and making some new friends. 

We discussed their holiday news and  learnt about their class author. We also discussed their wishes for year 1, thinking about what they would like to improve at.

In maths we have been revisiting the skills learnt in Reception focusing on are numbers to 20.

Reading practise books will be given out from next week. Children will change their library book every Thursday and were given their first library book this week. Please share the book together and talk about how to look after a book and keep it safe.

The children really enjoyed their first PE lesson, thinking about spacial awareness and changing direction as they travel and move in different ways.

Things to remember:

• Bring bookbags to school everyday.
• Bring a water bottle to school everyday.
• Read your reading practise books at home and fill out their purple reading record book.
• Library books are changed every Thursday.
