Welcome to Oliver Jeffers Class

Date: 10th Sep 2023 @ 12:18pm

What a fantastic week we have had together in Oliver Jeffers class!

We have made new friends, met all our new teachers and had lots of fun learning together.

We have introduced the class to our class author , Oliver Jeffers who has written and illustrated some lovely books which we will read together over the next  year.

This week we read one of his books ,The Hueys in the New Jumper which is a book all about celebrating our differences and being unique. The children created their own Huey and were able to describe and write about them. Their art work was amazing and so creative!!

We have also read the book the Colour Monster which gave us the opportunity to talk about different feelings. This is an area we will revisit more when we launch our emotion check in boards.

We have played lots of games this week with new partners such as a class treasure hunt and Bingo.

Homework this week was to share your child's library book with them.

It's PE day tomorrow so please remember to send your child to school in their PE kit with no jewellery.

Next week

We will be introducing our children to a new book by Oliver Jeffers focussing upon trying our best and developing resilience. We will also be launching our School Councillors.

In Maths our Year 1s will be working on Place value to 10 and our Year 2s will be working on place value to 100.

If you have any questions, please do come and see us at the start or the end of the day.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend.
