Week Commencing 9th October

Date: 16th Oct 2023 @ 8:36pm

Last week, we started reading a new book! Our new book is The Gingerbread Man.

Here is a video of the story being read aloud:

We enjoyed joining in with the repeated refrain, 'Run, run as fast as you can. You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man'.

Children used props to enact the role of our character. They imitated the Gingerbread Man running away!

These are some of the activites children were engaged in during the week:

  • Moulding playdough into Gingerbread Men
  • Dinosaur Sensory Tuff Tray
  • Counting the correct number of buttons for each numbered Gingerbread Men
  • Practise cutting spaghetti
  • Mark-Making with farm animals

The Colour Monster

Children had fun collaging the calm colour monster. For this, they used a range of green coloured materials. This is now proudly on display on our Feelings display board. This activity helped us to re-visit our learning of the different feelings we may feel. Please continue to encourage your child to share how they feel each day.

Feeling Sticks:

Children are encouraged to share whether they feel 'happy' or 'sad' each morning as they come into Nursery. They do this by finding their photo and placing their photo feeling stick in the 'happy' or 'sad' jar.
