Week commencing 4th March

This week we have started a new text called 'Izzy Gizmo'. We started the week by looking at the front cover of the book and using our inferencing skills to talk about what we thought the book was going to be about. We then thought of questions that we would like to ask based on the front cover. As we started to read the book we carried out some drama activities, thinking about how the main character would be feeling at different points. We then predicted what we thought would happen next based on the clues that we had found throughout the story so far.

On Thursday we had such a fabulous day celebrating World Book Day. The children all looked amazing in their costumes and it was wonderful to see so many parents in school for share a story morning.

In maths we have continued our multiplication and division topic, looking at multiplcation sentences and using and creting arrays to help us to work out calculations.

In PE we have continued our dance and gymnastics topics, focusing on different balances in gymnastics and different ways to travel. In computing we have experimented with sketchpad, exploring the different tools that are available. In PSHE we thought about the importance of a good bedtime routine. In science we went on a minibeast hunt, searching the outdoors for minibeasts. We learned the words microhabitat and camouflage. In our art lesson we used the paper folding skills that we have learned to create our fabulous Mother's Day cards.
