Week Commencing 2nd October

Date: 8th Oct 2023 @ 2:54pm

Carpet Time

Last week, we had introduced a fun and engaging, greeting song. Children tried hard to join in with singing or copying actions. This song has many benefits. For example, it helps us to start our day positively, build social skills through interaction, and aid language development. You can watch the video clip below:

Key Text

Last week, we had continued to read the story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear... What do You See?'

More children made binoculars, using it to pretend to be Brown Bear and telling us what they could see.

Children collaged animals from the story using tissue paper, feathers, and yarn. They collaged a yellow duck and a black sheep.

Other fun and stimulating activities within provision:

  • Mark-making patterns in slime!
  • Printing with Lego
  • Car gross motor activity
  • Finding hidden bears in shredded paper
  • Arranging lolly sticks into shapes

Special Visit!

We had a special visit in Nursery! We were suprised to find that the Colour Monsters had visited us. They came in the form of soft, fluffy plush toys. This helped us to re-visit previous learning.

At the creative table, children had collaged another Colour Monster. They used red straws, tissue paper, cellophane and card to collage the angry monster. You can see our creation proudly displayed on our Feelings board in Nursery.
