Week commencing 29th January 

This week we have continued our learning on the book 'The Egg'. We became authors ourselves by thinking about how we thought the story should end. We created a story map to help us to retell our new story, with a focus on using lots of the descriptive language that we have been learning in our retelling. We then used our story maps to help us to write our own version of the story.

In maths we have started a new topic on 'money'. We have recapped on different coins and talked about their value, making different amounts using a variety of coins. We have then looked at different notes and talked about the value of the notes, using different quantities of coins and notes to make a specific value. 

In RE we have been thinking about how Muslims welcome a new baby. In Geography we recapped on the different counties in the United Kingdom and learned about their capital cities. In science we continue our learning about different materials, with a focus on finding out how 'stretchy' different materials are. In DT we created our very own moving dragon sliders.
