During the past week, we have been reading a new focus text. 

Our new story is called, Jasper's Beanstalk. 

This coincides with 'Science Week' and out focus is Planting.

Some activities within provision

• Finding the matching pairs of animals, using flashcards 
• Counting the correct number of pom-poms to match the numbered bean 
• Threading the correct number of beads onto each numicon 
• Junk Modelling 

As well as devleoping children's C&L and Literacy skills,  Jasper's Beanstalk introduces children to concepts related to nature, such as planting seeds, growth, and the life cycle of plants. It can spark curiosity about the natural world and encourage children to explore their environment.

 

Science Experiement:

To introduce the sub-topic, Plants, we conducted a science experiment. We cut each white flower at the stem and placed it in a transparent cup. Inside the cup was a solution made up of water and food colouring. In time, the petals will change colour to that of the food colouring.

We are excited to see how it looks over the weekend! 

 

Ramadhan

Ramadan Mubarak to those celebrating! Children had lots of fun, engaging in a Ramdhan themed tuff tray. We also gave our home corner a spiritual revamp and added prayer mats and scarves/hats. Children dressed up and imitated praying Salaah.
