Review of week beginning 4th March

Date: 11th Mar 2024 @ 8:42am

This week we have introduced our class to a new text Izzy Gizmo by Pip Jones .

The story is about a girl who builds confidence in her engineering skills as she helps an injured bird to fly again. We have developed our prediction and inference skills by looking for clues in the pictures and the text.

On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. It was wonderful to see so many of our parents coming into school and sharing books together with their children. We had a really fun day, guessing the Masked readers, showing off our costumes etc,.

In maths our Year 2s  have continued with their  multiplication and division topic looking at arrays and practising their reasoning skills.

Our Year 1s have been looking at 1 more and 1 less with numbers up to 50.

In music we explored musical notation.

In art we looked at using paper and card to make the most fantastic Mothers Day cards (we hope you liked them!!)

In PE we have been continuing with our Gymnastics and Dance topics.

In science our Year 2s  went on a very exciting Minibeast hunt in the school grounds.

Our Year 1s have been comparing animals .
