Review of week beginning 22nd January 2024 - Julia Donaldson class

Date: 24th Jan 2024 @ 2:54pm

We're excited to share the latest adventures from our Reception class! Over the past two weeks, the reception children have been immersed in the captivating world of Dinosaur. This week we have been reading "Dear Dinosaur." This delightful tale has not only sparked their imagination but also served as a fantastic platform for learning all about letters. They have been developing their literacy skills by understanding the purpose of letters and how to write a letter.

In mathematics, our Reception children have been engaged in hands-on activities centered around mass and capacity. They've delved into the world of measurement, using key vocabulary to describe and compare the weight of different objects and the capacity of various containers using non-standard measure.

In Expressive Art & Design we have been using loose parts to create a piece of transient art and have been making collages using mixed media. We have also been working on a collarabotive Art piece using junk modelling and modroc to create a dinosaur world.
