Review of week beginning 15th April

This week we have been introduced to our new text for the next 2 weeks. We have been exploring the text however we have not seen the front cover of the book yet. We explored an image which showed an area full of litter. We spent time discussing the importance of not littering and watched some videos to find out why this is so important. We then began to think about how we could teach others about the importance of not littering. Our Year 2s planned and then produced a news report highlighting the main issues and our Year 1s created some fantastic posters.

On Wednesday we had a very exciting morning, we were visited by some local firefighters. The children were so excited and could not stop talking about it, please ask them all about it.

In maths our Year 2s we have moved on to our length and height topic, using rulers to measure the length of different objects and putting them in size order. 

Our Year 1s have started a new topic of Multiplication and Division.

In geography we were learning about some of the UKs amazing features and landmarks.

In Science we have been coninuing with our plant topic.

We had an exciting delivery of the Living Eggs in school and have enjoyed watching them as they hatched this week.

We had such a fabulous afternoon welcoming some mums into school for our Mother's Day craft afternoon on Wednesday  It was wonderful to have such a great turnout and hope you all enjoyed it.
