Nadia Shireen - Week commencing 25th September - Review

Date: 15th Oct 2023 @ 8:17pm

This week we have continued to carry out our learning based around the story 'Lonely Beast'. We started the week by recapping what a question was and then thinking of questions that we would like to ask the Beast. We remembered to use question words and a question mark when writing them down. We then created a friend for the beast, thinking about the different characteristics that the friend would need to have and what it would look like. When we had designed the friend we then used giotto to make it. When the children had all made their models, they shared them with the rest of the class before writing a fact file all about their design.

In maths we have continued our learning on place value, estimating where a given number would appear on a number line. We used words such as fewer, more than and equal to describe two or more groups of objects.

In Georgraphy we continued our learning on 'Where in the World are we?', by looking at our own classroom. We looked at an aerial view of the classroom and used directional language to talk about the different things that we could see and where they were.

We had some very exciting visitors into assembly today. The PCSOs talked about the importance of road safety and the different things that we needed to do to ensure that we are safe in the car and when walking near the road. In class we then continued this learning, making posters to help others to keep safe too. In computing we talked about what a computer is and looked at some different examples of computers. We talked about what made a computer and then designed our own robots with different technical features.
