Anthony Browne Class - review of week beginning 11th September

Date: 17th Sep 2023 @ 9:25am

We have had another amazing week in Anthony Browne Class this week.

English

In English we have been reading another book by our class author 'Silly Billy'. In it the main character Billy is a bit of a worrier and worries about hats, clouds, shoes, etc. We started the week thinking about worries and what to do if we have one. In the book Billy's grandma introduces him to Guatemalan worry dolls and tells him to tell them his worries to help them go away. In class we discussed our own worries and then had lots of fun desiging and making our own worry dolls. See class pictures for a parade of worry dolls made by the class. Ask your child if they can describe their worry doll for you to guess.

Maths

In Maths we have been learning to work with our maths partner to complete tasks.

We learnt to sort and count objects up to ten and how to represent a number using counters on the ten frame.

We have also been have fun with subitsing - spotting patterns in an arrangement of objects or dots.

Homework.

I would like to end by saying sorry for not handing out the homework books on Friday. These will be given to the children on Monday to be completed throughout the week.
