We are really impressed with how the children have settled back into school and it is lovely to see their happy, smiling faces. They have been busy getting to know their class routines and are enjoying sharing playtimes and lunchtimes with the other children in Key Stage One.

The children have been learning all about their class author and enjoying stories and activities connected to these. We have also had a big focus on our school diamond rules (Care, Share, Kind, Polite, Help, Tidy, Listen) and this is really helping the children to settle and develop a good attitude towards their learning.

Last week the children who wanted to be class councillors filled in an application form saying why they thought they would be a good councillor and suggested ideas for how they could improve our school. Successful candidates have now been shortlisted and will be voted for by their classmates on Monday.

This week the children will be attending an assembly by 'Living Streets' who will be encouraging the children to walk to school and explaining how they can do this safely.

Autumn begins on Wednesday so the children will be exploring the school grounds looking for seasonal changes.

The children are already bringing home a library book once a week and now that we have completed our initial assessments they will shortly be bringing home a reading book. Please support your child by reading with them at home, daily reading can make a huge difference to their progress.

If you have any questions or concerns please speak to your child's class teacher or a member of the Key Stage One team.
