Week beginning 17th January 2022

Date: 14th Jan 2022 @ 10:09am

This week we will be introducing our children to a new book Dear Dinosaur by Chae Strathie. In the story, after a trip to the museum, Max writes a letter to his favourite dinosaur, the mighty T- Rex and T- Rex writes back! As Max and T Rex learn about each other’s lives, they become great friends. In class we will be helping our children to think of questions they would ask a dinosaur and supporting them writing letters just like Max did.

In maths we will be revising our 2d shape names- circle, triangle, square and rectangle. We will also be investigating ‘mass’ and through practical activities learning to understand and use the words heavy/ light/ heavier and lighter.

We will also be looking at where the dinosaurs lived and what their wordd looked like. New words such as swamp/ lava/ forest/ mountains /lake will be talked about and brought to life by creating our own dinosaur small worlds.
