Oliver Jeffers -week beginning 6th Nov

Date: 12th Nov 2023 @ 1:11pm

This week we began the week by learning about Bonfire night. We talked about the different fireworks that we saw over the weekend and then learnt about the significance of the day. We then carried out a sequencing task where we ordered pictures of the events, writing sentences underneath each picture to explain what was happening. We then learned about Remembrance Day and talked about why we celebrate it and when. Mrs De'Ath held an assembly for all of the Key Stage One children, where they held a 2 minutes silence. The children all designed a medal and then used different resources to create their own poppies.

In maths our Year 2s  started the week focusing on subtraction, using our number bonds to help us to subtract numbers across a ten.

Our Year 1s have been adding more and creating our own First, then and now stories.

In PE we were practising our ball skills, using different equipment to practise move the ball in different ways.

In science our Year 1s have been learning about the seasons and the weather associated with it. Our Year 2s have been studying Life Processes and how we know plants and animals are alive.
