To celebrate World Book Day the children have been visited by Rosie from West End Theatre in schools and have taken part in workshops to help them perform like the characters from the story 'Where the Wild Things Are'. The children have developed their skills in moving and acting like the different characters from the story and have been developing their facial expressions so they can identify with how the different characters were feeling. Each class worked with Rosie to develop their own class performance based around the story.
For World book Day on Thursday 1st March, the school will be decorated as a wild wood and the children will hide their own wild creations around the hall. The children will decorate a wild animal mask or headdress in preparation for World Book Day and will be encouraged to dress up as a wild animal to help us celebrate. On the day the children will take part in lots of book related topics with a main focus on the story and will have a special 'Where the Wild Things Are' dinner in school. We can't wait to see all their fantastic and wild creations on Thursday!
