Stay and Play Sessions
Come along to these new sessions every Tuesday afternoon from 1pm—3pm in the Pentland Well-Being Centre.
Bring your baby or young child to play alongside others and give you and them the chance to make new friends.
There will be a variety of toys, craft and messy activities on offer each week and a snack for the children.
£2 for the first child in the family and £1 for any further siblings.
Year Two Inter-School Twinning Activity Day
All the children in Year Two will be involved in a twinning day this Thursday, 22nd March 2018, with Year Two children from Overthorpe Academy. We are looking forward to hosting the children from Overthorpe here at Pentland for the day, taking part in a range of activities together and making new friends.
Parent Consultation Evening
Wednesday 28th March.
Appointments can be made from Monday 19th March and time slots will be available between 3.10pm and 7.30pm.
This is a very valuable opportunity to share information about your child’s progress and attainment in school and we are always very pleased to see the vast majority of parents attend. We look forward to seeing you again on this evening.
We have also arranged for a re-run of the
Online Safety Briefing which was held earlier this term.
Times: 5.45pm and 6.30pm
The parents who attended then found it very useful, but we know that not everyone could make it that time, so we hope you can benefit from it running again on this evening.
The session is run by an IT specialist, who will share lots of information about the dangers that can be out there and the mechanisms and controls that can be put in place to help keep your child safe online.
Mother’s Day Lunches
As the invitations were unable to go out as planned last week, we are having to change the dates from those previously advertised on the website. These lunches are for children
from reception class upwards, ie. those who normally have a school lunch.
The lunches will now be held on:
Tuesday 20th March—Reception Class parents
Wednesday 21st March—Year One parents
Friday 23rd March—Year Two parents and Sibling groups
Letters will be sent out in the next couple of days. This is always a lovely occasion, so we hope as many mums as possible can join us that week.
British Science Week
W.b. 12th March 2018
We will be celebrating British Science Week in school by focusing on the theme of Outer Space.
We are very excited about having a mobile Planetarium in school on Tuesday 13th March. All the children will get a chance to learn about space journeys, planets and stars by going on a special journey through outer space themselves!
We hope you will join in the learning experience by taking part in some special homework challenges that week. More information to follow.
Come dressed as a wild animal to be part of our 'Where the Wild Things Are' themed World Book Day celebrations
Thursday 1st March 2018
Make your child a mask or headdress at home or in one of the parent workshops.
Children will be creating one in school on the day too.
