Online Learning in School and at Home

Online Learning in School and at Home

At Pentlands we use some online learning programmes in school, which help your children develop a range of skills across the curriculum.

Two of these that can be used at home are:

Purple Mash

Purple Mash is a creative online space, designed to support and enhance every child's daily learning experience. There are numerous creative tools, curriculum-focused activities and programs for children to explore which will support and inspire creative learning both at school and at home. Some additional homework challenges may now be set using Purple Mash.

To get onto Purple Mash, visit https://www.purplemash.com/pentland-wf12  or click on the icon below. There is also a link on the website, under the Parent section (Useful links) and on each class page.

Spelling Shed

Spelling Shed helps children to practise spelling via a simple game. The game gives four different degrees of support in the form of difficulty modes; Easy, Medium, Hard and Extreme.

Your child’s class teacher will set homework each week, giving a set of words to be practiced. Children can use the games to help them learn to spell the words.  Your child’s teacher will monitor each child’s progress and pick up on any areas that your child may be struggling with.

Once your child has their login information they can access our online game via https://play.edshed.co/login or click on the icon below.

Your child now has their Username and Password to access both the Purple Mash Learning Platform and Spelling Shed from home. Each child has their own personal login, which is unique to them and will enable them to access the different activities Purple Mash and Spelling Shed have to offer. They have been given two login cards containing this information and they need to keep this safe as it has their password on it.

We hope you enjoy these new learning resources.
