Emergency School Closures

Emergency School Closures

Should the school need to close for any emergency reason, e.g. severe snow, loss of water supply, parents will be informed in the following ways:

  • Message on the school website
  • Email to parents
  • Text or Website App message
  • School closure listed on Kirklees Council website www.kirklees.gov.uk/schoolclosures
  • Local Radio Stations

We would always aim to give parents as much prior notice as possible, but this may not unfortunately be possible in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Should an emergency closure be necessary during the school day, we would ask parents to respond as speedily as possible, but we will always make sure children are safeguarded until they are collected.

It is important that school have up-to-date emergency contact numbers/email addresses for all parents.  If these do change, then please inform the school office as soon as possible.

Bubble Closes due to Positive Covid 19 Case

In the event that we have a confirmed case of Covid 19 within school, we will be working with all the necessary authorities to ensure that we respond immediately.  Advice will be taken as to which contacts within school, if any, should be asked to self-isolate.

Those people (children and adults) within school that have had  close contact within the 48 hour period prior to the person's symptoms showing, will be contacted immediately with an email/letter to advise them to self-isolate. If it is a whole class bubble that needs to close, then an urgent message will also appear on the website.  Ths will be followed by a text/Website App message.
