Lullaby Project

Thursday 5th October 2017

Our school has been lucky to be invited to take part in an exciting project being run by Manasamitra Creative Arts company (the ones who performed the fantastic ‘’Life of a Bee’ dance performance last year).

The title of this project is ‘Lullaby—The Sonic Cradle.’

It is an international touring project that explores lullabies from across the world. As part of the project, Manasamitra a Dewsbury based organisation who has conceived and is currently touring this project will be holding two “lullaby booths” in our school on the 5th of October 2017. The booths will record and share lullabies that the school community wishes to share. This will be used as part of a soundscape that will feature in a final show on the afternoon of 30th November 2017 at Dewsbury Minster.

The performance features Supriya Nagarajan on voice and Duncan Chapman on sounds, both of who are artists who tour nationally and internationally. Duncan worked with our children last year in school to create the sound for our Life of a Bee installation at YSP. The Lullaby project is supported by Creative Scene, an Arts Council funded program.

5th October : come and join us in school to become part of the sound collection

30th November : come and see the final performance at Dewsbury minster. We are aiming to take most of the

children within school to see it in the afternoon.

Keeping School Updated
