On Monday Class Basil will be having their Eid Party. Children will be able to wear their own party clothes, but we will be playing some games throughout the day, so sensible shoes please.

 

English

This week we will be introducing the class to a new book, ‘The Way Back Home’ by Oliver Jeffers. It tells the story of a boy who finds an aeroplane in his cupboard and the adventures he has up in space, including landing on the moon and meeting an alien!

Maths

This week we will continue to practise our halving skills by finding half of a number. We will practise this skill practically using resources and through the use of pictures and real-life scenarios.

Topic

This week we will be creating our own planet fact files using a variety of sources to collect the information. We will be reading lots of non- fiction books about space and watching clips of astronauts in space.

Ask your child which is their favourite planet. Can they tell you 3 facts about it?

Can your child tell you what half of a number is up to 10, 20?
