As the first day of the week is Valentine's day we will be starting off the week by talking about people, things and pets we love. The children will be writing these on heart shaped post it notes and creating a class display. 

The children will also be designing, describing and writing a character description of their very own dragon.

There are also some brilliant daily Year 1 / 2 phonic video lessons available on Letters and Sounds for Home and School - YouTube Feel free to ask which would be the most suitable videos for your child to watch. 

Maths

The Year 1 children will be learning more about place value (tens and ones) up to 50. 

The Year 2 children will be learning how to divide by 2, 5 and 10.

Topic

On Tuesday the children will be having a visit from a theatre company who will be performing 'The Railway Children'. The children will be able to respond to the performance in a variety of ways.

In Geography this week we will be focussing on the city of London. We will be aking the children what they already know about London and teaching them more about our capital city. We will be looking at and learning about some of London's most famous landmarks.
