This week the children will be making an eggciting discovery! They will then be learning about how to plan and write a newspaper report so that they can share their discovery with the rest of the school.

There are also some brilliant daily Year 1 / 2 phonic video lessons available on Letters and Sounds for Home and School - YouTube Feel free to ask which would be the most suitable videos for your child to watch.

The Year 1 children will be learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

The Year 2 children will be using their knowledge of number bonds to add 2 digit numbers.

There are also some brilliant Year 1 / 2 daily maths video lessons available on the home learning section of the White Rose Maths website. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning

These will include author and illustrator Oliver Jeffers (shown below in a self-drawn picture of himself receiving the award from the Queen), teenage tennis star Emma Raducanu, NHS workers, medical experts and scientists and the youngest people to recieve an award for raising money for charity Tobias Weller (11) and Max Woosey (12).

In Geography we will be learning about what happens in Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. The children will also have an individual weather chart so that they can record the changes in the weather over the week.

Ways to help at home...

Ask your child to tell you all about their eggciting discovery in school this week!

Look on BBC weather and discuss the changes in weather and temperature with your child each day.
